Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance you will be provided with the relevant Medicare Item Number and you should confirm that you are covered for the planned operation. Depending on the amount remunerated by the insurer there may be a gap payment for your hospital procedure, payable two weeks in advance, in addition to any excess charged by your insurer.
Self-Insured / Self-Funded Patients (No Private Health Insurance)
If you do not have private health insurance payment in full is required two weeks prior to your procedure. Once your procedure has been completed, your claim will be processed through Medicare and you will receive your Medicare rebate into your nominated bank account.
Hospital and Anaesthetist Fees
There will be a separate fee applicable for both the hospital and the anaesthetist. You will need to contact them directly and provide them with the item numbers listed on your quote.
If you are not covered by private health insurance for any reason, you will be responsible for the full costs of the procedure, your hospital stay and your anaesthetic.
We strongly recommend you check with your private health fund prior to the procedure that you are covered for your procedure, anaesthetic and hospital stay.
