Fees

Your specialist will require full payment for your consultation at the time of your appointment.

Payment may be made by EFTPOS, VISA, Mastercard or cash. Any applicable Medicare rebate will be applied at your visit and your rebate will be in your bank account in most instances within 24 hours. Please ensure you have your correct bank details registered with Medicare.

Hospital Procedure Fees

Where possible your specialist will provide you with a written quote in advance for any hospital treatment you require. Your specialist can only provide a quotation after a consultation, to ensure that it is accurate and reflects your needs.

Private Health Insurance

If you have private health insurance your specialist will provide you with the relevant Medicare Item Number and you should confirm that you are covered for the planned operation. Depending on the amount remunerated by the insurer there may be a gap payment for your hospital procedure, payable two weeks in advance, in addition to any excess charged by your insurer.

Self-Insured / Self-Funded Patients (No Private Health Insurance)

If you do not have private health insurance your specialist will require full payment two weeks prior to your procedure. Once your procedure has been completed, your claim will be processed through Medicare and you will receive your Medicare rebate into your nominated bank account.

Hospital and Anaesthetist Fees

Your specialist’s fees do not include any hospital or anaesthetic costs. There may be a separate charge applicable for both the hospital and the anaesthetist. You will need to contact them directly and provide them with the item numbers listed on your quote.

Important Note

If you are not covered by private health insurance for any reason, you will be responsible for the full costs of the procedure, your hospital stay and your anaesthetic.

We strongly recommend you check with your private health fund prior to the procedure that you are covered for your procedure, anaesthetic and hospital stay.
